| Personal History | Erica (though her first name is Odette, she prefers to be called Erica) grew up on the Colony World of New Dayton, in the small coastal settlement of Wilbur. Wilbur is most famous as a supplier of a crustacean called the orvillan, which is very similar in appearance and taste to Earth's lobster (though many gourmands rank the orvillan as superior to the lobster). The oldest of the four children of William and Sandra Farrar, Erica's first name was the unfortunate result of her mother's love of classical ballet. Erica did come to appreciate the ballet, though her first love growing up was kites. The town of Wilbur was host to New Dayton's annual kite flying contests. Although Erica won more than her fair share of prizes, her real talent was in designing kites for the various competitions. By the age of eighteen, Erica already had the equivalent of an Associate's Degree in Mathematics from the local annex of the University of New Dayton, but felt that remaining on New Dayton would not allow her to explore all the possibilities available to her. So, like many young adults before her, Erica decided to enlist in Starfleet. Her eleven years in Starfleet have been ones of quiet efficiency. During her time in Starfleet, she has obtained a master's degree in engineering mathematics as well as three commendations in her personnel file for suggestions for design improvements to fighter and auxiliary craft. |
